Art is a guarantee of sanity

Said Louise Bourgeois.

During the March-May lockdown in 2020 in the UK, I splurged my creative outpourings on to found pieces of slate. Using Posca paint pens, this activity kept me sane while staying safe at home.

I decorated around 100 bits of slate and some stones. I randomly coloured and doodled on the pieces, generally while the TV was on, so certain pieces sometimes remind me what I was watching at the time.

In May, I had a mad idea of buying a clothes rail onto which I could display all my bits of textile work which I have produced over the years. The back drop is made from squares of material art which I have then sewn together using a zigzag handstitch.

In April I created this laptop bag, made from scrap bits of material and a dry felted design from long ago.

More stuff made during lockdown 1.
